“Strategic management is concerned with what is perhaps the most pressing issue for practicing managers: how can I make my firm outperform its competitors? To effectuate superior performance, managers must establish control over the firm that they run, identify its key sources of competitive advantage, establish portfolios of activities and relationships designed to leverage those advantages, and tailor these strategies to the demands of local environments. This session allows prospective MBA students to better understand the essence of strategic management capabilities, and to practice them through two short exercises.”
