The pressure is on in International Trade. While we move more goods with higher speed, we also raise the bar on security and transparency. When our goods enter the European border we need information on EU customs law, food & product safety and plant protection to name only a few. Up to 10 agencies all have the enforcement policies that we need to adhere to. No wonder that some of our goods have to wait at the border.

Efficient and coordinated border control should solve this. This is not only beneficial for the EU but also for countries e.g. Kenia, Nigeria, Thailand who largely depend on export. Especially food and flowers require fast and reliable supply chains. Any delay at the quay may dissolve the value of the cargo. The good news is that Coordinated Border Control has been piloted with a growing number of companies. And it will be available to all of us in 2018. So what do we need to be prepared and enjoy the benefits from Coordinated Border Control?

In this webinar we will hear from Edwin Wenink, Manager Supply Chain, Flora Holland. He will tell you about the issues Flora Holland faced in transporting fresh roses from Kenia to Aalsmeer. And how they achieved an impressive improvement. Frank Heijmann, Head of International Trade Relations, Customs Administration of the Netherlands will talk about the role of Customs. Finally Prof. Yao-Hua Tan, TU Delft and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University will discuss what this means process and IT-systems.

Follow this webinar and you will:

  • understand the complexities when goods cross the EU Border
  • find out the role of Dutch Customs in border management
  • know how Flora Holland improved their supply chain
  • learn what companies need to do to get ready.

During this 60 minute webinar you will be able to participate and raise questions to the speakers.

The webinar is free of charge.
