The Road to Re-Invention – RSM Leadership Summit 2011

Rotterdam, September 2011 --- Leaders from international business and leading academic thinkers from around the world will gather in Rotterdam on Friday, 7 October to share their thoughts and perspectives on the continuing ups and downs of the global economy.

They will assemble at this year’s third annual Leadership Summit at the Beurs World Trade Center, hosted by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), which explores "The Road to Reinvention".

Four senior decision makers with a variety of leadership roles, at Airbus, IBM, IKEA and Unilever, will provide perspectives on the strategic implications of emerging industrial trends, new technologies, globalisation and the effects of an uncertain economic climate. They will share experiences of recent transformations that have taken place in their companies and sectors under the influence of a changing business environment.

The newly-appointed Dean at RSM, Steef van der Velde, said: “I think it’s important that leaders from business and academia continue to exchange ideas and strategies on as many levels as possible; it enriches thinking on both sides. That’s the reason for RSM to host this Leadership Summit. It’s an open forum that allows business leaders, business managers and academics to discuss issues affecting business and the economy.”

The business landscape has transformed dramatically over the past few years, making the once familiar signposts and well-trodden routes that led to business success obsolete. Now pioneers are leading the way towards business transformation and renewed growth by blazing trails along what is being described as "The Road to Reinvention". Questions to be explored include: What are the crucial strategies for continuous success and increased competitiveness. What are the key factors currently shaping the future of business?

The Leadership Summit is one of several regular events organised by RSM that connects industry and academia with executives. RSM’s aim is to leverage its connections with business and academia, to share knowledge and disseminate ideas with a positive impact on business.
