RSM again receives Net Impact’s Gold Chapter Standing
Net Impact chapter recognised for its 2011-2012 achievements
Net Impact has announced the 2011-2012 Gold and Silver standings for Net Impact chapters, awarding RSM the prestigious Gold rating for the second year in a row. The standings, based on the chapter’s performance this past academic year, represent the most outstanding chapters in the Net Impact network. This year, just 16% of over 300 Net Impact chapters worldwide achieved Gold standing.
“Each year, Gold chapters raise the bar and mobilise students and professionals to use their careers for good. Their critical support provides members real-world projects that build professional skills and a community of peers who work together to achieve their high impact goals,” said Net Impact CEO Liz Maw. “Gold chapters are at the forefront of the movement to build a new generation of business leaders.”
Beth Rogers, president of RSM’s Net Impact chapter: “We’re thrilled to receive the Gold Chapter Standing for the second year in a row. The Net Impact chapter is a partner with the Greening RSM initiative, aimed at achieving the lasting commitment of the RSM Community to the performance of environmentally sustainable business operations.” The RSM Net Impact chapter has organised a number of events to improve the awareness of sustainability issues for the MBA students. This includes events on doing business at the bottom of the pyramid, a session with a local sustainability incubator organisation, and hosting Paul Gilding, along with Greening RSM. More events will be held throughout the remainder of the MBA programme.
Chapters achieve Gold or Silver standing by meeting a rigorous set of requirements based on their activities, programming, and membership reach. This year’s Gold and Silver chapters helped the Net Impact network provide over 2,200 local events worldwide and over 170 programs that allow members to positively impact their community. Gold and Silver chapters also strengthened the overall network by regional collaboration, mentoring other chapters, and sharing successful ideas with their peers. RSM’s activities this year are led by presidents Trisha Clauson, Ayumi Kimura, and Beth Rogers.
Gold and Silver chapters are recognised publicly within the Net Impact network and in their local communities. They will receive special designation in Business as UNusual, Net Impact’s annual publication showcasing how business programs incorporate social and environmental responsibility into their offerings, among other benefits.
RSM’s Net Impact chapter is already continuing its momentum for the coming year. Their next event is a Sustainability Career Board, taking place at RSM on 17 July.
