Two teams of MBA students from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) are preparing for the final round of a business case competition against other business schools. They’ll be asked to create innovative answers to healthcare’s most pressing problems in the final of the WBS Case Challenge 2015, a two-day event at The Shard, London’s tallest building, on 24 and 25 April hosted by Warwick Business School.

The two teams of six from RSM’s International Full-time MBA programme among the eight teams from top global business schools competing against each other during a case challenge sponsored by GE Healthcare and GE Healthcare Finnamore.

Members of the RSM teams represent accounting, finance, engineering and medical backgrounds – and all will be tested as they join other equally diverse international business school students to collaborate, network and demonstrate their creative talents to a panel of expert judges. The challenge brings the brightest minds from around the world together to create innovative answers to problems in the UK healthcare sector.

RSM will be represented by Athith Rai, Kemi Gbadebo, Laurens Drost, Mert Bozoglu, Sabyasachi Ghosh, Swati Gupta, Mohammad Shahril, Budi Hakiki Maritas, Purvi Jha, Putu Madisha, Daniel Brule, and Fatih Anfasa. Most of them participate in RSM’s International Full-time MBA programme, and Anfasa is a PhD student at Erasmus University Medical Centre.

The teams hope to bring sustainability, social responsibility and profitability to their solutions in the WBS Case Challenge, and to learn more about the healthcare industry.

Team member Putu Madisha said: “We were selected because we genuinely care about the challenge and can relate to what the organisers want to achieve. Each one of us has a different experience of the subject of healthcare. We’re remarkable because of our diversity – as well as our different nationalities.

“We hope to show the organisers the power of diversity and how it can work to our advantage when we come up with an innovative and viable solution. Of course, we hope it will be the best solution to win the challenge itself,” said Mohammad Shahril.
