With this ceremony, the family, friends and guests of the Parttime Master Bedrijfskunde students celebrated the completion of their two-year evening programme. The 64 graduates started the programme in 2014 and received their MSc diploma from Klaas Wassens, the programme's executive director.
Thesis award
Lex van de Vegt, Anouk Kon, Gerben Nieuwenhuize and Frans-Joseph Simons graduated cum laude. Frans-Joseph Simons also won the thesis award. Prof. Hans Oppelland rewarded Simons’ thesis Een Kwestie Van Balans: Een onderzoek naar missiedrift binnen Particuliere Initiatieven [A question of balance: a study on mission drift in Private Initiatives] with the 2016 thesis award for this programme.
The students elected Dr Merieke Stevens, assistant professor in RSM’s Department of Technology and Operations Management, as the best lecturer. Her dedication, inspiration and lectures were highly valued by the students.
International project
An international project forms part of the programme. During the 10-day international study trip, the Parttime Master Bedrijfskunde students attended lectures at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business or the NYU Stern School of Business. The participants conducted academic research in their respective locations, working in small groups at international or local companies.
The participants in this evening programme work in various sectors, such as construction and property, IT, finance, health care, education, logistics and the public sector. They have at least three years of work experience and have completed a university or a university of applied sciences programme. They therefore learn not only from the professors, but also from each other.
Parttime Master Bedrijfskunde
The Parttime Master Bedrijfskunde programme is an academic and practice-based programme for professionals who wish to make a career move. The main focus of the part-time evening programme is the development of leaders with innovative ideas for a sustainable future. The programme has an international orientation but is firmly rooted in Dutch society. Based on this high level of involvement, RSM plays a leading role in specific areas, such as management and business administration.
The participants are now members of RSM’s alumni network.
