Motte, Godefroy

Senior Vice President & Chief Regional and Sustainability Officer, Eastman Chemical Company 

Mr. Motte joined Eastman in 1985 in Paris, France. His early career focused on the commercial and product side of the chemicals businesses but evolved to market manager, regional business manager, site manager, and then vice president, operations for the EMEA region. 

He gained experience in the polymers businesses through the construction and start-up of a new plant for PET polymers in Spain and as the vice president, polymers. He actively orchestrated five acquisitions and two divestitures in EMEA.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Motte served as vice president/managing director for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region of Eastman Chemical Company. Before that, he served as vice president for the EMEA region for the Chemicals Division. That role was extended to include the EMEA Polymers Business Group, which was merged in April 2006. 

Mr. Motte studied at the school of “Hautes Etudes Industrielles” in Lille, France, where he graduated as a Chemical Engineer. He obtained a masters degree in Management (DESS) from the Sorbonne in Paris and, in 2008, attended the Harvard Business School (AMP). 

In addition to his achievements with Eastman, Mr. Motte has a number of other responsibilities, including his membership of the ACOM Board of the European Chemical Association (CEFIC), the noard of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham), the advisory board of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), as well as his chairmanship of the Rotterdam American Chapter of AmCham.
