How to motivate your application for the IBA programme

How to motivate your application for the IBA programme

The most important part of the Online Application Form (OLAF) is the motivation section. In the past we asked our applicants to motivate their applications in a motivation letter. This part of the application has been replaced by five questions in the online application form. Your answers to these questions should be written concisely (max 1,200 characters (approx 1/4 page) per question) and will be used to help the IBA selection committee decide whether you are the type of student we are looking for. Each question (except for question 5 which is optional) will be evaluated with a score ranging from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).

We are convinced that our students will benefit the most from the IBA programme if they learn to work successfully in internationally diverse groups. We therefore expect all students selected to participate in our programme to embrace this opportunity wholeheartedly.

Question 1:

Please describe a situation in which you worked with people from different backgrounds and what you learned from that experience.

Question 2:

Briefly describe a time in which you had to step out of your comfort zone and what you learned from that experience.

Question 3:

How do you plan to integrate with students from other countries and cultures?
With this question you are expected to explain what you will actually do to integrate with your fellow students once you have started your studies.

Question 4:

What proves your sincere interest in an international programme like IBA?

Question 5:

What other relevant information do you want to share with us in order to motivate your application?
This question is optional but you may receive bonus points.
