International Business Projects

“In the nine years I have been company coach I have seen a big change in how students work, the tools they use, and how they collaborate. The IBP allows us to understand how young people are working together and their expectations in terms of culture and communication; which is important because even if we do not employ these students, we will employ others like them.”

Paul Iske, ABN AMRO / Dialogues, company coach

“What are the critical marketing success factors for becoming an important player in your market? What is the current status and potential of knowledge management within large international consultancy and IT firms?”

If your organisation is confronted similarly critical yet non-urgent questions that are all too oftenside-lined due to lack of time and money, you may find the answer in student research.

What is it?

  • The International Business Project (IBP) is a consultancy project caaried out by a team of international Master students.
  • The IBP gives you the opportunity to reflect on the most current business issues at low-cost and within a moderate amount of time of four months.
  • All students are in the final phase of their business studies (MScBA) at our own or partner universities.
  • The general aim of the IBP is to place students in a situation that requires them to respond professionally to a realistic management problem and learn how to work together in a culturally-heterogeneous group to produce results.
  • The best projects will be judged by an external jury during a final presentation.
  •

What do we ask from your company?

  • To participate, your company must provide a realistic in-company issue or problem description for our student team. Please read the selection criteria to find out what is required.
  • We also require your company to provide a company coach for the student team and we ask participating companies to pay € 250,- (ex. VAT) to the International Business Project Fund.
  • Students do not get paid for the research, as it is designed to be a learning experience. However out-of-pocket expenses like phone calls, faxes, mails, (local) travel costs and so on, are to be reimbursed by you directly after the students have sent their declaration.

When is it?

The IBP's take place twice a year

  • In Autumn, deadline for handing in projects is in July
  • In Spring, deadline for handing in projects is in December
