A New Financial World Order
The global economic crisis is here, bringing with it a new financial world order that has yet to be fully understood. Can we adequately assess the far-reaching impact of the financial crisis? Has the crisis reached bottom? What will be the new boundary between markets and government as banking systems become partially nationalised in many western countries? Most significantly, what lessons can we learn from recent events?
These questions served as the basis for the first of a series of conferences and debates, dubbed “Journeys with Erasmus,” whose introductory session, “A New Financial World Order,” took place on 20 November, 2008.
