MBA Alumni Welcome Scholarships
Driven, ambitious RSM MBAs benefit from the life-changing experience which enables them to further succeed in international business. Talented candidates from underprivileged backgrounds may manage to secure just enough financial support for the tuition fees and the basic living expenses but would be very grateful to receive additional financial amounts for buying books, a computer and go on a field trip like the MBA Tournament. We have created two MBA Alumni Welcome Scholarships worth €2500 each year to support this initiative. Candidates will be selected on the basis of active participation as volunteer in public or community activities and evidence of transforming economic hardships into source of strengths.
MSc International Exchange Scholarships
RSM partners with more than 100 leading business schools and universities in the world to enable MSc students the opportunity to study for a period of time at another school for the benefit of enhancing their academic credentials, enriching their knowledge of business aboard as well as their international network. This is not covered in the regular financial aid available to students. We are hoping that more students can benefit from the international exchange experience through the offering of two international exchange scholarships each worth €1500. Candidates will be selected on the basis of study performance, ambassadorial qualities and demonstrated financial need.
Managerial Research
To become a top tier business school also means that our management research is making an impact not only in academia, but also for business. Our publication RSM Insight is a first step to reposition academic research for a business audience. To strengthen our visibility in the business community, we need more stimuli –and more funding - to enable more RSM faculty to produce business-relevant research. We aim to raise € 2500 as prize for the author(s) of the most popular RSM Insight article to be voted by our alumni and corporate relations.
Green Master Thesis Award
Greening RSM is a young but vibrant movement that aims at achieving the lasting commitment of the RSM Community to the performance of environmentally sustainable business operations. Greening RSM operates through working groups of motivated employees and students who are determined to make RSM a global environmental leader among business schools. A Green Master Thesis Award including a prize of € 500 will be given out to the best thesis that is sustainability-related, having the applicability for real life, innovative, possible relevance for business and academic excellence.
Women Empowering Women
The RSM MBA programmes are dedicated to diversity in the classroom as well as creating innovative and exciting new opportunities for our participants. This most recent of our initiatives, the RSM MBA Kilimanjaro Project, addresses the issues of women in business, particularly the specific challenges that women face when climbing the corporate ladder. Research shows that this has less to do with intelligence, education or stamina than with networking and cooperation with one another. Rebecca Stephens, the first British women to successfully conquer Mount Everest, has agreed to coach and lead a team of 15 RSM female students in this project. Although this project is being initiated for women at the moment, it is plausible that the success will lead to us organizing more teams to take on this challenge in the future. Much of the success will depend on the financial support we can raise to sponsor this programme. Approximately 50% of the required budget will come from our own sources, but we are looking to finance the rest from external sponsors including € 2500 from the RSM Annual Fund. education.”
