Miscellaneous
Marcel van Oosterhout has a Master in Business Administration, with a specialisation in information management and logistics management.
Since May 1996 he was employed by ERBS, a department at the university set up to manage contract research projects. Within this department as a projectmanager he was responsible to develop, manage and execute innovative and knowledge-intensive contract research projects for government and the business community - in close cooperation with many Professors and research staff at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and the Erasmus School of Economics.
Marcel van Oosterhout participated in over 40 national and international applied research projects and initiatives in close collaboration with the business community. Also he worked for a wide range of customers, varying from the EU (many IST projects), national governments (EZ, Gigaport), large companies (HP, KPN Mobile, NS, KLM, TPG, Eneco) to local governments (such as the Rotterdam Port Authority) and foundations (such as Transumo, KLICT, Connekt, KMR, Media Plaza, ECP.NL).
Since 1 January 2004 he has worked at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University as a project manager/scientific researcher in the department of decision and information sciences. He is a member of the daily board and treasurer for the department. Also he is reviewer for ECIS, Electronic Markets and HICSS. Furthermore he is member of the ECP.NL Expertgroup eEurope.
