Personal Information

Willem Hulsink is a senior lecturer of entrepreneurship and new business venturing at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and director of its Centre for Entrepreneurship. Furthermore he holds a chair in innovative entrepreneurship at Wageningen University & Research centre (The Netherlands). Previously he has worked as an assistant professor of Organisation Studies at Tilburg University (The Netherlands), as a research fellow at the Science & Technology Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex in Brighton (United Kingdom) and an associate professor of strategic management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

His research interests include new venture creation and firm growth, leadership and networking in high-tech industries; and strategic management in infrastructural and/or regulated sectors. He has published in Small Business Economics, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Organization Studies, New technology-based firms in the New Millennium, International Journal of Technology Management, Gazette: International Journal for Communication Studies and Telecommunications Policy. His book publications include: On creating competition and strategic restructuring (with Emiel Wubben, 2003), Regional clusters in ICT (2002, Privatisation and Liberalisation in European Telecommunications (1999), and Ondernemen in netwerken (in Dutch: Entrepreneurship in networks, with Dick Manuel and Erik Stam, 2004), and Silicon Valley in de Polder (with Harry Bouwman, 2000).
