Alexander has published and (co-) edited several books and articles in Dutch and in English, in the fields of Organisation Studies and Change Studies (see below). Social constructionist theory and methodology development, Organizational studies, and Change Studies are his primary research interests.

His current research and practice interest include storytelling, and changes and innovations in the life and care of older people. Alexander is an associate member of US-based TAOS, a community of scholars and practitioners concerned with the social processes essential for the construction of reason, knowledge, and human value. Besides, he is an active member of MOPAN, the international research forum for multi organisational partnerships and networks. He loves teaching in various graduate (Business Administration, Change) and post-graduate programmes (Information Documentation Management, Public Controlling, and Executive Change Management). His (MA) course titles of interest are: Theories on Change – Differences and Similarities, Cross-Cultural Management Euro-India Relationships (at EUR), Introduction to Organization, Change & Intervention (at UvH). He is and has been active as consultant, reflective practitioner as well as mediator in actual change processes in the public and private domain in the Netherlands.

Away from the university, Alexander has three wonderful children and is a serious photographer. He and his wife, Kitty, are caring cat owners, serious bikers, and devoted parents!
