Research interests

Dr Shahzad Ansari’s research and teaching interests centre on institutional processes in both private and public fields, technological and management innovations; knowledge management; the development of new markets, outsourcing and offshoring and technological transitions.

Biography

Dr. Shahzad Ansari is Visiting Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and University Lecturer at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

Dr Ansari is a member of the Editorial Board of Organization Studies, member of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Shahzad received his PhD, in December, 2004 from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. During his PhD Shahzad was selected to attend the 42nd Annual International Achievement Summit in Washington, DC, where 200 outstanding students from 44 countries interacted with the world's leaders in public affairs, business, science and the arts and also worked as a researcher on a project studying the social dynamics of technological transformations, sponsored by the Cambridge-MIT Institute. His awards include the Gates Scholarship, Gates Cambridge Trust, for doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge (2001) Chevening Scholarship, British Council, for MPhil Studies at the University of Cambridge (2000), Distinction in MPhil dissertation at the University of Cambridge, Claydon Prize for outstanding students in economics and related areas (2001) and Lundgren Research Award, University of Cambridge (2001). He also has experience in the industry. He has worked as a consulting engineer at Thinfilms Inc, a New Jersey firm providing thin film services (in particular coating services) to over 150 corporations in the hybrid microelectronics, semiconductor, optical, medical and sensor industries, and a partner at Design Alchemy, an architectural, engineering and interior designing consultancy providing services in architecture, planning, interior design, and renovation.
