Résumé

Gregory Maassen Ph.D. specializes in management and implementation of technical assistance projects in developing countries. These projects are sponsored by leading international institutions such as the World Bank, EBRD and USAID. Projects typically focus on economic legislation, judicial reform, private sector development, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. Currently, he is Chief of Party of a large USAID land titling and privatization project in Afghanistan. He was Chief of Party and Senior Expert of a three year USAID Corporate Governance and Commercial Law Project in Macedonia. The projects are implemented by Emerging Markets Group, a firm associated with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. He has tenure as an Assistant Professor at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands where he teaches MBA courses on corporate governance and strategic management. He received a Fulbright scholarship from the US Department of State in 1998 and has written more than 40 publications including journal articles, surveys, OECD working papers and books. He was Head of Office and Project Manager for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group in Armenia and senior corporate governance specialist and advisor to the IFC in Moscow. Other experience with the IFC included assignments in Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
