Biography
Vareska van de Vrande is Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the RSM Erasmus University. Vareska holds a MSc and PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her PhD thesis "Not Invented Here: Managing Corporate Innovation in a New Era" deals with the role of uncertainty when choosing between different technology sourcing modes and the effect of using these modes on innovative performance and diversification.
Her research on open innovation focuses on the use of different organizational forms for external technology sourcing, such as corporate venture capital investments, strategic alliances, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Other research interests include corporate entrepreneurship and corporate venturing.
