Quality Management of Virtual Organizations
Now society is shifting into what is called a network society, forms of organizations known as virtual organizations appear. Question is: will the now derived forms and methods of quality management be applicable in that kind of organizations, is there a need for new ones or do these kind of organizations already show new and/or adapted forms and methods of quality management. If so, are these new forms and methods of quality management developed by virtual organizations applicable in organizational strucuteres as we allready know? And are these on their turn applicable in the more traditional structured organizations?
The durable and societal responsable enterprise
Ethically, politically and economically there is an increasing need for a more durable and societal responsible way of doing business. Limited availability of natural resources and the pressure on the environment ask for new solutions in the way of doing business and for governments new ways and instruments to control this. There is no clear view on how individual goals of organizations and the needs of the world society as a whole can be brought in harmony with one another in such a way that there will be a natural behavior of enterprises towards their societal responsibilities. This also in respect to the use of limited natural resources in such a way that organizations feel and see it as the best strategy for achieving there own goals in terms of growth of company value (material value, market value, societal value and intellectual value) and continuity. A view must be developed on what the specification of organization must be in order to they will operate in harmony with the world society in order to get and behold there "license to operate". A view must be developed how this specification can be best implemented so that they match with ethical and political convictions within society as well as within the organization concerned. A view must be developed on how the implemented specification can best be secured and also a view must be developed how all this can be brought in conformity with the need for continuous improvement and adaptation towards shifting circumstances.
