Postponement of Issuing Your Degree

Postponement of Issuing Your Degree

As part of new legislation, the university is under the obligation to actively issue your degree once all curriculum components have been completed. When the last result is booked in OSIRIS you will receive a letter from the Exam Administration that your degree has been issued. This means:

  1. No adjustments or additions can be made to the grade list;
  2. You can no longer improve an exam result that is sufficient.

For the one year MSc programmes: please be aware that if you have passed all your courses (including the master thesis trajectory) it will not be possible to do a resit for a sufficient Block 5 result, even though the formal resit period has not taken place yet.

Important: Do not disenroll from Studielink until you have received (confirmation of) your diploma as the diploma can only be issued whilst being a registered student. If you disenroll too early, you will have to re-enroll.

Postponement of issuing the degree

Under certain predefined conditions and for certain predefined goals, RSM will accommodate students who wish to extend their studies by postponing the degree:

  • a master exchange;
  • an internship;
  • extra electives (MScBA Master in Management only).

General conditions

  1. You should have completed all curriculum components, including the thesis, in the nominal timespan of the programme;
  2. The extension of issuing the degree is given for a semester (maximum of seven months);
  3. You must apply for the extension well in advance. You cannot apply for postponement after the degree has been granted.

Which students can NOT apply for postponement of issuing the degree?
- Students who have not yet completed all their curriculum components (there is no necessity since your degree will not yet be issued);
- Students who have not studied nominally (you do not meet the general conditions);
- Students who want to improve a sufficient result (this is not a predefined goal).
