"I was sure I wanted to work in business rather than become a researcher when I finished my Bachelors degree in Sociology and Psychology. But I also knew that I could not work in a business environment right away. There are so many things about business management that you need to know, including theory and experience, so I wanted to learn more before I started my first job.
For me, the General Management programme at RSM was a unique opportunity to get together with other people who want to combine their interests with a profound business education without losing the benefits of their Bachelors degree. In my home country, Germany, I would have had to start anew if I wanted to earn a real business degree, so the GM programme was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with people of different nationalities and educational backgrounds – from archeology or engineering – study together, learn from each other and have tons of fun. The absolute highlight of my GM year was the consultancy project, where I learnt to combine theoretical input with more applied experiences from case studies in a real-life setting. I worked with fellow students for Air France-KLM, consulting them on their Africa business. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this project and the GM people for the world!"
