Thesis Internship in China

Projects

Extensive engagement with Western and Chinese firms as well as Chinese academic institutions is an important part of this programme and one of its unique features. This partnership network, developed by RSM and Leiden University, will provide outstanding benefits for students and partnering companies as students participate in internships, providing them with professional experience and the chance to work on real-world projects in Chinese and Western companies. In short: 

• A 3-month internship in China from April-June is part of the programme 

• Students are expected to find a suitable internship position in order to conduct research for their thesis 

• The thesis is based on quantitative or qualitative research 

• The programme is embedded in a academic and corporate partnership network 

• The CHEB Workshop Series is designed to facilitate interaction with other academic and corporate partners as to help students to broaden their knowledge base about China and China’s culture.

Schedule 

• Students finish preparing their thesis proposal in December, with the help of RSM and Leiden faculty; 

• Students can search an internship and negotiate terms with the company or organisation during the winter months; 

• Students will be accompanied to China in April, accompanied by either RSM or Leiden faculty; 

• Staff members will offer tutorials and coaching in China after six weeks; 

• The stay in China can be extend over the summer if necessary.
