1. In brief
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, upon request of the applicant, will waive the difference between the non-EEA tuition fee and the EEA tuition fee for selected students from non-EEA countries who are not entitled to pay the EEA tuition fee, whose grades in their previous programmes are considered ‘excellent’. The scholarship will be provided in the form of a full waiver from the non-EEA tuition fee.
2. For whom?
Prospective students of the following MSc programmes can apply:
In principle, a fair distribution of scholarships over the various MSc programmes will take place. This principle may be deviated from and priority may be given to applicants for certain MSc programmes.
Application for the scholarship is open for prospective MSc students, starting their studies in the academic year 2013/2014, from all non-EEA countries, provided they would be charged the non-EEA tuition fee.
The school may give preference to students with one of the following nationalities:
Additionally, the school may strive for a certain distribution over the continents.
Applicants cannot be recipients of any other scholarships exceeding the amount of 5.000 euro in total in that same academic year.
3. For which year?
The scholarship will be awarded for the nominal length of the MSc programme, which is one year for all programmes except International Management-CEMS (18 months) and General Management (16 months).
4. Excellence
Excellence for applicants with a Bachelor of Science from Dutch universities is proven if the average grade over the entire programme at the time of application is at least 8.0/10.
Additionally, a GMAT score of at least 700 is required – also for applicants from schools and/or programmes exempt for GMAT for admission.
Excellence for applicants with a Bachelor of Science from non-Dutch universities is proven if the average grade over the entire programme at the time of application is at least the equivalent of the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale 1 – 10.
The Scholarship Committee will decide on the local grade equivalents for the Dutch grade of 8.0 using the grade information included in (a.o.) the Nuffic country modules.
Additionally, a GMAT score of at least 700 is required - also for applicants from schools and/or programmes exempt for GMAT for admission.
5. When to apply?
Applicants for MSc except for the MSc International Management-CEMS can apply for the scholarship any moment between 1 November 2012 and 15 May 2013.
Applicants for the MSc International Management-CEMS can apply for the scholarships any moment between 1 November 2012 and 31 January 2013.
6. Application procedure
You will need to apply for the scholarship by sending the documents listed below by email to msc.info@rsm.nl with "Scholarship request" as a subject heading. This can be done after you have submitted you application online.
7. How does it work?
The scholarship takes the form of a waiver being the amount of money that will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee. The waiver fully covers the difference between the non-EEA tuition fee and the EEA tuition fee. Still, the student will always have to pay at least the EEA tuition fee, as this fee cannot be waived.
If the student fails to graduate in nominal time, the non-EEA tuition fee for non-EEA Master students will apply for the remaining period of study.
For the scholarship, no actual transmission of money takes place.
The scholarship part of the non-EEA tuition fee will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee before the start of the academic year, enabling the beholder to immediately pay the reduced tuition fee; either at once or in instalments.
The amount of the scholarship is 13.722 euro in the academic year in 2013/2014.
8. Decisions
The decisions on the award of the scholarship will be made by the RSM Scholarship Committee. This scholarship committee will determine award recipient(s) by the date of Monday, 17 June 2013.
The RSM Scholarship Committee can be contacted through our contact form: www.rsm.nl/contactmsc
