Core courses introduce you to the necessary theories and tools you need to master before proceeding with the master electives. core courses cover the cornerstones of modern financial decision-making.

Block 1

The courses in Block 1 present key theories and findings developed in the founding disciplines of our field that inform our understanding of the practice of entrepreneurship. These disciplines are psychology, economics, sociology and geography. In this block you will learn to appreciate the breadth and depth of entrepreneurship as a scholarly field. This block prepares you to address challenging and practical issues with a solid and profound appreciation of the main scholarly and research contributions. In this block you will also build the foundation for the thesis that you will write at the end of the programme.

Block 2

This block of courses builds on the foundational block to teach you to effectively use and apply theories of entrepreneurship in analysing and solving practical problems of entrepreneurial management.
The focus is on the developmental problems that new firms experience when they explore the value creation potential of business opportunities; the problems they face when they scale-up their operations; and the challenges of maturing ventures. During this block, high-profile entrepreneurs and investors come to RSM to challenge your case analyses and your choices. In the accompanying field project you will study start-up and growth by interviewing multiple Dutch entrepreneurs to learn and using these experiences to put the cases and readings into perspective.
