Tuition & Living Costs

Share

Thanks to a combination of affordable tuition fees and living costs, combined with a quality education and global reputation, your Masters programme at RSM represents an excellent investment. RSM was recently ranked number one in Europe in regards to student value for money by the Financial Times.

Tuition fees 2011-2012
The tuition fee for all pre-experience MSc programmes is €1,713 per year for students under the age of 30 who are nationals of a country belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA). This EEA fee is set by the government and may be subject to incremental changes.

For non-EEA students the tuition fee is €14,950 per year.

Reimbursement Tuition Fee for EEA students
If you are a national the European Economic Area (EEA), you may be eligible for tuition reimbursement. Ask for the separate brochure ‘Restitution of tuition fees for EEA Students’ at Informatie Beheer Groep (IBG). You can contact them on +31 50 599 7755, vragen@ib-groep.nl, or visit www.ib-groep.nl

Application fee
For the academic year 2011/2012 all students, with the exception of currently enrolled or graduated students of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, have to pay an application fee of €95. This application fee can be paid online via the Erasmus Payment System. This system offers applicants the possibility to pay using either iDEAL (for those with a Dutch bank account) or PayPal (which can be linked to any bank account or credit card worldwide). It is important that applicants complete the payment process as indicated, otherwise the system cannot register the payment. The application fee is non-refundable.

Additional Expenses
Please note there will be additional expenses related to the programme (other than tuition and general living costs). These additional expenses vary per programme and may include:

  • Study materials such as books, readers and business cases
  • Costs involved in kick off meetings
  • (Travel) costs related to (international) excursions and (compulsory) exchange semester or internship abroad

Living Costs
For a reasonable standard of living in the Netherlands, you should have an income of approximately €1,000 per month or € 12,000 per year (excluding the tuition fee). Here is an example of monthly expenditure:

  • Furnished Accommodation, including gas and electricity €525
  • Medical insurance €50
  • Telephone €25
  • Food €200
  • Books, recreation, clothing, public transport, etc. € 200
  • Total costs per month €1,000

Jobs on the side
Please ensure that you have sufficient funding available to finance your stay at RSM. Don’t assume you will be able to find paid employment to supplement your income. For EEA students there are no formal restrictions in finding jobs but the language barrier makes it difficult to find employment and it is a great strain to combine a job with the amount of studying that we will ask you to do.

Non-EEA students are subject to labour regulations and it is highly unlikely you will obtain a work permit. Please do not rely on this.
