Thanks to a combination of affordable tuition fees and living costs, combined with a quality education and global reputation, your Masters programme at RSM represents an excellent investment. RSM was recently ranked number one in Europe in regards to student value for money by the Financial Times.
Tuition fees 2012-2013
The tuition fee for all pre-experience MSc programmes is €1,771 per year for students who are nationals of a country belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA). This EEA fee is set by the government and may be subject to incremental changes.
For non-EEA students the tuition fee is €15,500 per year.
Important message
There are a number of legislative changes connected to tuition fees for EEA students at the moment. These may affect the fee that applies to you. Please check the EUR website to read more about those changes.
Study finance & Tuition fee loans for EEA-students
If your nationality is from one of the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) the Dutch government offers the opportunity to request a tuition fee loan or in several situations a restitution or a grant. Please look on the website of DUO (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs) for the specific requirements.
Application fee
For the academic year 2012/2013 all students, with the exception of currently enrolled or graduated students of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, have to pay an application fee of €95. This application fee can be paid online via the Erasmus Payment System. This system offers applicants the possibility to pay using either iDEAL (for those with a Dutch bank account) or PayPal (which can be linked to any bank account or credit card worldwide). It is important that applicants complete the payment process as indicated, otherwise the system cannot register the payment. The application fee is non-refundable.
Additional Expenses
Please note there will be additional expenses related to the programme (other than tuition and general living costs). These additional expenses vary per programme and may include:
Living Costs
For a reasonable standard of living in the Netherlands, you should have an income of approximately €1,000 per month or € 12,000 per year (excluding the tuition fee). Here is an example of monthly expenditure:
Total costs per month €1,000
Jobs on the side
Please ensure, prior to your arrival at RSM, that you have or will have sufficient funding available to finance your stay at RSM. There may be options for finding paid employment in addition to your studies, but this is not guaranteed so you are encouraged not to count on finding other ways to supplement your income during your studies. For EEA students there are no formal restrictions in finding jobs in the Netherlands, however a lack of Dutch language skills can create a barrier, making it difficult to secure employment. Non-EEA students are subject to labour regulations, which makes the likelihood of obtaining a work permit very small, and we thus ask students not to rely on this possibility. Further, the combination of your studies and a job may prove a great strain, and we would not encourage students to undertake heavy combinations of school- and workloads, in the interest of doing well in your studies.
Non-EEA students are subject to labour regulations and it is highly unlikely you will obtain a work permit. Please do not rely on this.
