I’m glad I chose to complete my academic life with a master in Organisational Change & Consulting at RSM. After a rather broad bachelor programme in Business Economics at Tilburg University I wanted to do something more focused, on a smaller scale. This master seemed to be just that. Furthermore my expectations were fulfilled, to study both the principles and theories of organisation (change) theory and have a practical application in business itself. It seems like only yesterday that we sauntered into the ‘Old North’ neighbourhood in Rotterdam doing research, or when we interviewed employees of a recently merged accounting firm about their perceptions of this change.  Fortunately, there was also room to think and reflect more theoretically.  Doing the elective in Philosophy of Change with just a handful of other students was great.  We really went in-depth and reflected critically on organization theory and society as a whole. Now I look back on a great period with classmates, a time in which it became more clear that I wanted to do something with organizational change in the future. At the moment I’m involved in a project in the Port of Rotterdam in which we, in a hands-on manner, try to create an accessible port, out of what is now a rather congested one. I think back regularly to what was discussed in class or experienced during several assignments during my master.
