Profile

Otto Koppius is an Assistant Professor of Decision and Information Sciences at RSM Erasmus University, where he also received his Ph.D. in 2002. He holds an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics (Graph Theory) from Twente University in the Netherlands. His PhD. dissertation “Information Architecture and Electronic Market Performance” won the award for best dissertation in information systems worldwide from the Association of Information Systems. His current research and teaching interests revolve around (IT-enabled) business networks and social networks, electronic markets and auctions, as well as methodological topics, particularly related to predictive modeling and evidence-based management. He regularly presents on these topics at conferences such as the Academy of Management, International Conference on Information Systems, Sunbelt Social Networks conference, INFORMS, Annual Symposium on Statistical Challenges in E-Commerce Research and various other workshops and conferences. His research has appeared in journals such as Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Communication of the ACM, European Journal of Operations Research and Advances in Strategic Management.
