RSM second in Global MBA Trophy Regatta 2009
Rotterdam/Athens, May 2009 --- 17 participating sailing ships from top level business schools such as Wharton, Colombia, Kellogg, LBS, Insead, IE and RSM participated in the Global MBA Trophy Regatta 2009 early May. This sailing course, organised for MBA students and alumni resulted in the B-division with a second place for RSM and third place overall. The RSM boat was manned with full-time students, exchange students and a local skipper. Overall regatta winner was Insead.
London Business School and Sailing Club together with the Alumni Associations of Greece & Italy hosted this sailing race amongst the world's top business schools in Mikrolimano, Piraeus, Greece. It was a high profile, international sailing event that brought together top business men and women from across the world – alumni and students of the world’s best business schools.
A two-day racing and networking event with on- and off-shore activities, it also was a great opportunity to effectively exercise critical skills of high achieving MBAs: excellence, leadership, teamwork, endurance, effective communication, crisis management, planning and decision making.
The official award ceremony was held at the Main Club House of the Yacht Club of Greece. Honourary Speaker was Mr. Mauro Macchi, Senior Partner, Head of Management Consulting, Accenture Italy, Greece, East Europe and Middle East, in the presence of many eminent guests a.o. the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Greece.
