Drs Marieke de Wal

Marieke de Wal thinks that complex societal challenges such as inequality, poverty and conflict can only be tackled if communities work together; likewise restoring social, environmental and spiritual balance, and believes societies should build a collective leadership to shape their future. She is committed to connecting people and organisations in partnerships for sustainable development. She also believes that new ways of thinking and working together are needed.

Her position as MD of the PrC means she can help build strong and effective partnerships, and as co-ordinator of PPPLab she can enhance public-private collaboration. Furthermore, she actively supports innovation through action research via the PrC and PPPLab, which both facilitate exchange and mutual learning.

Marieke studied philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has worked for more than 10 years at Berenschot, one of the largest consultancy firms in the Netherlands. Her expertise is in public-private partnerships and action and evaluation research. She is chair of the Supervisory Board of Pax (www.paxvoorvrede.nl) and member of the Continental Supervisory Board of Solidaridad Europe (www.solidaridad.org).
