RvC Business Plan: Alumni als Commissaris RvC in vak Strategic Business Plan

Jaarlijks wordt er door eerstejaars studenten Business Administration/Bedrijfskunde & International Business Administration een strategisch ondernemingsplan geschreven voor een bestaande onderneming. Daarbij worden zij uitvoerig begeleid door docenten van de vakgroep Strategie en Omgeving. Toch blijkt dat de frisse, kritische blik van mensen uit de praktijk voor de studenten bijzonder waardevol kan zijn. Hebben hun analyses de belangrijke problemen aan het licht gebracht? Zijn de door hen geformuleerde strategische opties realistisch? Wie anders dan onze alumni beschikken over een dergelijke blik?

Op initiatief van de Alumnicommissie & de vakgroep Strategisch Management zijn de afgelopen jaren alumni bereid gevonden om één of twee dagdelen als Commissaris te fungeren en met een collega alumnus als RvC feedback te leveren op de door de studenten geschreven plannen. In 2008 leverden 60 alumni-vrijwilligers een onderwijsbijdrage als Commissaris. De RvC sessies worden zowel door studenten, alumni als docenten hoog gewaardeerd. Heel veel dank aan alle deelnemende alumni!

Dit jaar heeft RSM een record aantal eerstejaars studenten, dus in 2009 hopen we nog meer alumni aanmeldingen te krijgen.

Alumni Supervisory Boards in first year course Strategic Business Plan
In the first year core course Strategic Business Plan all teams of students of the BSc in Business Administration / Bedrijfskunde, as well as the BSc in International Business Administration, programme have to write a Strategic Business Plan for a real company. Students are supervised by faculty members of the Department Strategic Management and Business Environment. A fresh, critical look of people from practice may be highly valuable to students. Do their analyses focus on the most important problems? Are their proposed strategic options realistic? Who else but our alumni have insight in such matters?

Therefore we are asking the assistance of alumni volunteers to act as a member of a Supervisory Board (for at least one day-part). The Wednesday sessions are in Dutch; the Thursday sessions (students International BA) are in English. In 2008 sixty alumni volunteers contributed to this course as a Supervisory Board Member / Commissaris. The Supervisory Board / RvC sessions are highly appreciated by the students, alumni as well as the faculty members. Many thanks to all participating alumni!
