Distuinguished Alumni Awards

Distinguished Alumni honoured

Two awards were awarded to alumni judged as outstanding for their contribution to business and society. They join the roll of honour which currently contains RSM’s 13 existing Distinguished Alumni.

Active investor and campaigner Robert-Jan van Ogtrop  (Post-kandidaats’ Bedrijfskunde 1980, equivalent to an MBA today) is a truly international businessman whose vision for the future connects clean technology, nature, and the development of sustainable and sustaining business models. He is an active investor in renewable energy and clean technology, and a Board member of the Wilderness Leadership School, Wilderness Foundation, BiD Network, the chairman of TBL Mirror Fund and African Parks, and founder of the Foundation for Natural Leadership and Circle Economy.

Cycling adventurers Joost Notenboom and Michiel Roodenburg (RSM MSc graduates in 2009 and 2010 respectively) cycled 30,000km on bamboo bicycles for 20 months through 16 countries, carrying a bottle of water from Alaska to the Antarctic Peninsula, where they arrived on in March 2012. Their ride raised awareness of more than 1 billion people around the globe who live without access to clean drinking water. They are currently engaged in raising funds for a variety of drinking water projects, most of them in Latin America.
