Implemented sustainability measures

  • RSM buys energy through Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) procurement for its two buildings on EUR’s Woudestein campus: the Bayle (J building) and the Mandeville (T building). EUR procures all energy from renewable sources.
  • RSM has an automatic switch-off for lighting and heating systems that operates outside working hours. RSM employee computers on campus are shut down automatically outside opening hours, leading to an annual energy saving and preventing some 6,500 kWh, or 3,700 kg of carbon dioxide emissions, equalling the amount absorbed by 185 trees during one year.
  • Student computer screens are low-energy consumption models.

Mandeville (T building) consumption: Electricity, water, and heating

Electricity consumption
The kilowatt-hour (symbolized kWh) is a unit of energy equivalent to one kilowatt (1 kW) of power expended for one hour (1 h) of time.

Envisioned sustainability measures

  • The energy and sustainability coordinator of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) Facilities Services informed us the campus was implementing a real-time visible energy consumption web page for energy and water consumption. RSM stakeholders will be able to view the web page to see real-time energy, heating, and water consumption data. Awaiting launch date updates!
