Communications professionals to explore leadership practices in summer course

Professionals working in communications can learn the latest developments, models and best practices in corporate communication in the Executive Summer Course in Corporate Communication by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). The five-day programme, which further deepens skills and knowledge in corporate communication, will take place in a hotel in Dutch province Noord-Brabant in June 2017.

The interactive programme of the course is designed exclusively for communications professionals to explore insights, best practices and frameworks. It also forms a solid basis to expand their academic foundation and practical skills in various areas of corporate communication, and extend their network.

Organisational identity

In five days, participants will investigate new developments in corporate communication, organisational identity and change, creation of external alignment, complexity and ambiguity of corporate communication, and management of the corporate communication process.

Communications professionals will learn from business practitioners and experts including Saskia Kapinga, vice-president external relations at Shell International; Dailah Nihot, managing director of corporate relations at NN Group; Jeroen Overgoor, director communication and public affairs at Eneco; and John-Paul Schuirink, corporate relations manager at Heineken Netherlands. And academic speakers include Prof. Cees van Riel, Prof. Joep Cornelissen and Prof. Pursey Heugens from RSM, and Dr Mignon van Halderen from Fontys University of Applied Sciences.

Achieving business goals

The Executive Summer Course is part of RSM’s Executive MSc in Corporate Communication programme, and can be followed separately. Participants will practise solving corporate communication issues, and learn how to use corporate communications to achieve business goals.

The course will take place from Monday 19 to Friday 23 June 2017 at four-star Golden Tulip Jagershorst hotel in Leende, the Netherlands.
