Companies score young talent at RSM career event
Business professionals from companies across Europe connected with bachelor and master students from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) who strive for an international business career at the International Career Event (ICE), which took place on campus in November 2018.
Participating companies presented themselves to talented future graduates to attract these highly skilled young professionals as future employees with an international background.
“Nike had a fantastic time attending the ICE Fair,” says Molly Grange, internship university relations and recruitment at Nike. “It was brilliant to speak to so many students and hear of their aspirations. We took part in the speed interviews, and have already extended multiple internship offers to students who excelled in their interviews.”
Orla Mai Gleeson, recruiting programme manager at DocuSign, agrees: “We had a fantastic day talking to such a diverse group of students looking for both internships and full time roles after graduation.”
Bachelor and master students from RSM met the recruitment professionals from international companies based in the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, and Belgium. Companies represented included ABInBev, ABN AMRO, Accenture, AlphaSights, Avertim, Avery Dennison, Docusign, INVERTO part of BCG, Kerry Group, Olam Europe, Nike, Page Personnel, PeaceTech Lab, Philips, Uniqlo and Zalando.
At the event, students conducted speed interviews with recruitment professionals from seven companies, and there was also an international fair. At both activities, the company representatives and students had the chance to discuss career possibilities abroad after graduation.
“Participating in a speed interview gave me the opportunity to learn more about the company’s career path and possibilities from a professional in the field,” says a recent graduate in RSM’s MSc Marketing Management programme. “Given the short time span, it was important to ask the right questions and to present yourself the way you want to. These interviews can open up great opportunities; the woman I spoke with called me the day after to schedule an official job interview in the same week!”
The one-day International Career Event was organised by the RSM Career Centre and STAR Management Week. Companies interested in meeting talented business school students to boost their business can contact Frieda Franke via firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss possibilities.
