The Financial Times published its 2015 Global Masters in Management ranking on 14 September 2015. Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) strengthens its position into the top five of this leading global MSc ranking. In particular, RSM is placed on a number 1 position when it comes to its graduates’ international mobility.

The 2015 evaluation of RSM’s MSc in International Management indicates that the 2012 cohort of graduates has done remarkably well in terms of career progress, salaries, and especially in international mobility. For international mobility, the Financial Times ranking placed RSM number one worldwide, indicating that many of its graduates have embarked on an international career.

Top five European masters in management

RSM also moved from 52 in 2014 to 22 in the careers rank 2015, and from 6th to 5th place in the international course experience. Other factors where RSM moved up in this Financial Times ranking include its advisory board composition as well as international faculty.

“This outstanding result for RSM shows that our MSc in International Management programme offers an excellent start to an international management career,” says Steef van de Velde, Dean of RSM. “We encourage our students to think globally, not only in regards to the world’s diverging economies and business models, but the broader context in which business operates – societal and environmental.”

International trading culture

This is confirmed by RSM’s annual Graduate Placement report, which indicates that employers need to move fast if they want to recruit RSM graduates. The 2015 report finds that RSM students are a source of truly international and highly skilled management employees for Dutch organisations, helping to keep the Dutch tradition of an international and trading nation. “I’m very proud of these results, which show that we continue to perform very well, and that our education strategy provides the right education, connecting well with both our students and the business community,” said Dean Van de Velde.

Global business education

The MSc in International Management programme is geared toward preparing students for leadership positions in the competitive international labour market. Upon graduation, they will have a good understanding of management theory, but also an international mindset, the ability to speak several languages, and experience of global business. These elements are reflected in this premier ranking and show that the hard work of all of those involved really pays off. The ranking for CEMS, the global alliance of 29 business schools across five continents of which RSM is a member, has also moved up – from 5th place in 2014 to 4th place in 2015.

The full results of the FT Global Masters in Management ranking include other participating Dutch schools and are published today in today’s print and online editions of the Financial Times.
