Dr Bayerl will monitor the success of diversity measures implemented at RSM, give advice to the school’s Executive Board, the academic department chairs, directors of administrative departments, and the Promotions and Tenure committee, and will liaise with diversity bodies inside and outside the university. She will also produce an annual progress report.
Diversity Task Force
A diversity task force was appointed to analyse the status at RSM and give recommendations regarding diversity in the academic departments at the request of the school’s Executive Board in 2015. Chaired by Dr Marta Szymanowska, Associate Professor of Finance at RSM, the task force outlined a large number of useful recommendations and suggestions for structural improvements for increasing diversity among academic employees at RSM.

About her nomination, Saskia Bayerl comments: “I thank the Executive Board for the trust they put in me. Diversity is about differences between members of a group on various attributes such as but not limited to gender and cultural background. These differences not only shape someone’s identity but also mean they have varied knowledge, perspectives, and approaches to work which can strengthen the development of our school. I see it as my task to create a culture that enables everyone to thrive and positively contribute to the school, and increase the representation of traditionally underrepresented groups.”
