RSM launches executive programme with business school in Indonesia
Professionals in Asia can benefit from a new Executive MBA programme in Jakarta, established by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and Universitas Prasetiya Mulya. The MM Global Executive programme, which will take place on campus in Indonesia, aims to create entrepreneurs and business leaders who are ready to compete globally.
The two-year, part-time programme, meant for middle- and senior-level managers with a global business orientation, prepares graduates to enter the global business arena. They will develop a business understanding of different socio-economic and multicultural settings, broaden their global network, and be able to capture the opportunities of global markets.
Entrepreneurs and future leaders
"In line with growing competition in the world of business, companies need resources that can enhance business scales not only on a national level but also on a global level,” says Prof. Agus W. Soehadi, dean of the School of Business and Economics Universitas Prasetiya Mulya. He added that as a business institution, Prasetiya Mulya was called to prepare the prospective entrepreneurs and future leaders to be part of global level in the context of a multi-cultural co-operation.
“With the achievements of RSM as one of the best business schools in Europe, we believe this co-operation will become stronger. Through this partnership, we hope this new programme can facilitate Indonesian entrepreneurs and executives as well as companies that require a global business network,” said Prof. Soehadi.
The MM Global Executive also offers opportunities for participants to gain international exposure through overseas study trips, global case study learning methods, and an international project as a final assignment. In this global project, students will have to identify, define and analyse real management challenges faced by their assigned, globally operating company. Participants will have to apply their knowledge in practice and propose viable recommendations.
Establishing the MM Global Executive shows the commitment of the Asian and European founders to bring together two educational institutions with high standards in the field of business and management.
Prof. Steef van de Velde, dean of RSM, stated: “Prasetiya Mulya is one of the best business schools in Indonesia. It’s definitely the most entrepreneurial and innovative. It also fits our mission to be a force for positive change in the world. To address the world's big challenges, we need to collaborate and we need like-minded partners."
RSM’s strategy encompasses internationalisation as well as the development and delivery of joint executive degree programmes in countries that are very relevant for the Dutch industry, said Dean Van de Velde. “We collaborate with business schools all over the world, including China and Germany.”
The first cohort of the MM Global Executive will start in October 2017 at Cilandak Campus in Jakarta, and classes will take place every other weekend. Classes will be led by academics from both Prasetiya Mulya and RSM.
