Honour after promoting 25 PhDs for RSM Professor Henk Volberda
Earlier this year, Professor Henk Volberda became only the second-ever RSM faculty member to promote a 25th PhD research thesis. And in recognition of his contribution to its research output, the Erasmus Research Institute of Management, ERIM, recently honoured Prof. Volberda with the title of ERIM Praeceptor Doctorum Celeberrimus (Highly Distinguished ERIM Promotor). The award takes the form of a Latin text containing a collage of all 25 dissertations. The first award of this type was presented seven years ago, in November 2008, to Professor Frans van den Bosch.
Prof. Volberda’s 25th PhD promotee was Dr Saeed Khanagha, with his dissertation entitled Dynamic Capabilities for Managing Emerging Technologies: Organizational and Managerial Antecedents of Effective Adoption of Cloud Computing.
Prof. Volberda was presented with the award by the Scientific Director of ERIM, Professor Marno Verbeek, and by Dr Monique van Donzel, ERIM’s Executive Director, on 9 June accompanied by a short speech in English and Latin.
