Your Role 

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality of financial processes within RSM BV and to further professionalize the finance department. As a Financial Controller you are responsible for a reliable, complete and timely business administration and support the Finance Director by collecting and analysing financial information and preparing reports. In addition, you are responsible for coordinating the tasks of the administration and contribute to the functioning of this team. You ensure that you are - and remain - aware of relevant financial regulations and responsible for implementing these when relevant for RSM BV.

Tasks & responsibilities that come with this position are:

  • manage the daily financial administration, including month-end close process
  • deliver periodic financial reporting, both internal and external
  • maintain the finance manual, including continuous process review and improvements
  • prepare the annual report and accounts
  • supervise the annual financial audit

You work closely together with your direct colleagues in the finance team and you will report directly to the Director of Finance. In addition, you often work together with department heads and the leadership team. You will maintain strong working relationships within the office and with external stakeholders, including (but not limited to) RSM BV’s faculty partners at the university.

Required qualifications

You are an experienced finance professional who is able to independently manage the administration and to initiate process improvements to adjust to rapidly changing and high demanding situations. You have excellent analytical and numerical skills and you are able to keep overview in a complex organization. In this role you need to be accurate and have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Furthermore, we are looking for an effective team player who can work independently as well. You are flexible, pro-active, easy to approach and you take initiatives.  Last but not least we expect you to be a reliable person who acts with integrity.

In addition, you have/ are:

  • a bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting or business administration
  • at least 5 years of work experience as financial controller, preferably at least a few years as auditor at an accountancy firm
  • demonstrated experience with Dutch GAAP and knowledge of relevant Dutch regulation and legislation
  • fully operational in accounting software, preferably Exact Online
  • working knowledge in Excel or equivalent spreadsheet applications
  • proficient in English
  • demonstrated experience in VAT declarations and other fiscal matters
  • an effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills

We Offer

We offer you a salary corresponding to your work experience that fits our salary scale, gross monthly salary up to (a maximum of) € 5.900, depending on knowledge and experience, this is based on a fulltime employment. In addition, you will have 25 holiday days and 12 ADV days per year based on full-time employment, travel cost reimbursement when you work at the office and participation in our collective pension scheme.
