Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship

The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship is offered to first-year students starting the Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration (IBA) at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, for the three-year duration of their studies. The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship is meant for students with a truly entrepreneurial spirit, who would demonstrably benefit from financial support.
IBA alumni support IBA students
The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship initiative was founded by two IBA alumni and is funded together with other IBA alumni to support students who might otherwise not fully participate in the programme due to financial constraints. It is motivated by the invaluable experience gained by the main donors throughout and upon completion of the programme – both academically and with regards to the expansive international network they have derived from it.
The scholarship
The scholarship covers the statutory tuition fee of the programme (€2,006 for the 2017-2018 academic year) as well as yearly book fees (€600). The recipients of the scholarship receive mentorship in their entrepreneurial quest by IBA alumni and act as ambassadors of the scholarship and the IBA programme.
Need for more scholarships
The Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship is the only scholarship available to students from the European Economic Area (EEA), while 80% of the current first-year IBA students come from this area. Although there are currently two recipients of the scholarship, approximately 25 EEA students per class are financially struggling to fully participate in the programme. Therefore, our goal is to provide one more scholarship by securing the first-year tuition fee (of €2,600).
