Biography Joost Meenks
Joost Meenks started his career at the best restaurants in the Netherlands. At the age of 24, he shifted from working as a chef to becoming a sommelier at the two-star restaurant de Zwetheul. He worked for four years for wine importer The Gouden Ton, after which he started his own business. Joost is also the initiator of the Plop wine festival in Rotterdam and is often present pouring wine at events such as Bacchus Wine festival and Nacht van de Kaap. Next to this he is the 'in-house' sommelier of the event Natafelen organised by art gallery Garage Rotterdam.
