NRC Live and RSM partner up for positive impact through business

From sustainable food producer to climate-neutral builder; in all branches companies successfully strive for new, responsible forms of entrepreneurship. Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), in collaboration with NRC Live and ImpactCity, offers 100 change makers from industry, government and science the knowledge, inspiration and network to make a positive difference in 2019.



“At NRC Live we try to find answers to rapid economic and social changes, challenge bright minds, and stimulate debate and continuous learning,” says Sanne Bruinstroop, programme maker at NRC Live. “Partnering with RSM means we can support future change makers in making a positive difference. The programme will provide the academic depth and practical insights needed to translate societal challenges to opportunities for innovation.” 

A unique training

The NRC Live Impact Challenge training programme consists of a combination of two live meetings, four online knowledge modules from renowned RSM professors such as Prof. Jan van den Ende, Prof. Daan Stam, Prof. Rob van Tulder and Thijs Geradts, and peer review to discuss opportunities and challenges. The result of this personalised approach will be a personal business case which is ready to be implemented within the organisation and a network of partners for change.

During the programme, participants will acquire theoretical knowledge about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and sustainable innovation, and the skills and knowledge on how to initiate and implement these innovations to create positive change. They will receive feedback on their own business case through input from experts and other change agents so they can start immediately with the implementation within their respective organisation; and they will become part of an inspiring network of 100 pioneers from various organisations.

Positive change leaders

There are only 100 places available. At the end of the programme, participants receive the RSM certificate 'Positive Change Leader'. The best idea of ​​the NRC Live Impact Challenge will receive exposure in NRC, a training budget from RSM and access to the network and services of ImpactCity.

NRC Live Impact Challenge

The NRC Live Impact Challenge is organised by NRC Live, a platform that provides new perspectives and development opportunities for professionals across industries.

The challenge consists of two live events in 2019: the kick-off on Tuesday 5 March and the final event on Thursday 27 June. In between, there’s a 100-day programme in which participants will follow online RSM modules to get the skills and knowledge on how to initiate and implement sustainable innovations. The events will be in Dutch and English, and the RSM modules will be in English. In the challenge NRC Live and RSM will inspire participants, and offer them the network for innovating their business by contributing to one or more of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
