Bachelor students and companies recently connected at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) to discuss how internships could benefit both parties. The business skills of the students can boost the organisation’s projects, and the work experience will prepare the students for the business world.

“It was so inspiring to meet so many bright talents looking for internships, said Ana-Maria Hoogendorp, recruitment partner at Henkel. “I’m sure that many will become the Henkel interns and employees of tomorrow, and we are looking forward to welcoming them.”

Sixteen companies presented themselves at a stand or with a presentation at the afternoon-long event: Helloprint, KMM Innovation, Babysits, Philips, Deloitte, Galderma Benelux BV, Avery Dennison, Schlumberger, TOPdesk, Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer, Cafetra-A BayWa company, Kinti Café, Malaysian Dutch Business Council, PepsiCo Benelux, Hoppinger, and Henkel.

Getting to know each other

Students said the internship fair was ‘a good social networking experience which can be quite helpful with acquiring an internship of my choice’ and that it was a great opportunity to ‘gain insights in companies I didn't know before’.

The Bachelor Internship Fair 2019 took place on 17 April, and focused on second-year students in RSM’s English-taught BSc in International Business Administration (IBA) and Dutch-taught Business Administration (Bedrijfskunde) programmes. The internships are to take place in the seventh trimester of their programme, which will be from September until December 2019.
