A changing landscape of philanthropy around the world and the relationship of philanthropy with governments against the backdrop of historic practices of giving in the Arab region is the subject of a masterclass organised by the Erasmus Centre for Strategic Philanthropy (ECSP) on Thursday 30 April. Keynote speaker is Dr Atallah Kuttab, chairman of the Board of the Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS) and Chairman and founder of SAANED for Philanthropy Advisory in the Arab region. He will reflect on ways to bridge concepts of philanthropy in the Arab region and in Europe.

Dr Kuttab has spent a major part of his life developing new initiatives in philanthropy and human rights and has become a renowned specialist in both fields. His audience will be asked to actively engage in discussions on the changing landscape of philanthropy, the role of philanthropy in (Dutch) societies and co-operation across countries.

The ECSP Masterclass is free of charge, but registration is required. Please email Sofia Gerards gerards@ese.eur.nl to reserve a place. The event will start at 15:00 (coffee/tea from 14:30 onwards) in the Faculty Club at the EUR Woudestein Campus. All students and researchers interested in global philanthropy are welcome to join.
