Can I apply with my predicted grades?

RSM does not make an admissions decision based on predicted grades. If you are still in the final year of high school, RSM uses the grades of the penultimate year (year before your final year) for the evaluation. This allows us to evaluate each applicant based on a full year of grades.

If you have already graduated, grades of the final year and the exam results will be considered. Additionally, grades of your current or previous higher education studies (e.g. University (of Applied Sciences)) can be used for the assessment.

Can I be exempted from taking an English language test?

You are exempt from taking an English language test if you have been taught in English for at least 2.5 years during your secondary school programme in one of the following countries: USA, UK, Canada (with the exception of Quebec), Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa (English Home Language).

Can I be exempted from the mathematics entrance exam?

Occasionally, RSM grants an exemption from the mathematics entrance exam. If you want to be considered for an exemption, you must provide a detailed overview of the mathematics subjects (including the mathematics level, contents and total number of hours per week) taken in the three final years of your secondary education. The overview must be written in English, or accompanied by an official English translation, signed by your mathematics teacher (including contact details: name and email address) and bearing a school stamp. An exemption from the mathematics entrance exam does not guarantee a place in the programme.

Can I defer my offer of admission to the IBA programme?

Applicants for the Bachelor programme in International Business Administration cannot defer their offer as IBA at RSM is classified as a Numerus Fixus programme. You can therefore only accept or decline the offer.

If you receive an offer of admission but want to start your studies the next entry year, you need to re-apply and participate again in the selection process. An offer cannot be guaranteed as there will be a new applicant pool. Also, your current enrolment application will be registered as a ‘used selection attempt’ and will count towards the maximum number of times that you can submit an enrolment application for a certain numerus fixus programme in the Netherlands.

Can RSM verify my TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online?

Yes, RSM can check your TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge results online. However, the RSM Admissions Office can only do this if you upload a copy of your score report in your application:

TOEFL: The institutional code of RSM is 0798 and for Erasmus University 7199 (you can use either). If you have not requested for the score report to be sent to RSM, we can still verify the score directly with TOEFL. Note that the scores can only be verified 2 years from the test date. If your test is older than this, please contact us.

IELTS: In order to verify your IELTS score, RSM needs the code which is written on the bottom right corner of your test report. Always upload your full score report during the application process.

Cambridge: In order for RSM to verify your Cambridge score, you need to add your Cambridge candidate ID number and secret number to your application with your score report. By sharing this information, you give us permission to verify the result. If you do not have the candidate ID and secret number, you must contact the authorized examination centre where the examination was originally taken. Cambridge tests taken before 2005 can not be verified.

Note: it is sufficient to upload your score report and follow the instructions mentioned above. It is not needed for TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge to send us your English certificate by postal mail.
