Can I apply with my predicted grades?

RSM does not make an admissions decision based on predicted grades. If you are still in the final year of high school, RSM uses the grades of the penultimate year (year before your final year) for the evaluation. This allows us to evaluate each applicant based on a full year of grades.

If you have already graduated, grades of the final year and the exam results will be considered. Additionally, grades of your current or previous higher education studies (e.g. University (of Applied Sciences)) can be used for the assessment.

Can I send in my application first and the results of my English language test later?

Yes, you can send us your application first and complete your application package later with the results of your English language exam. Indicate the planned exam date on your application form. Applicants who intend to prove their proficiency in the English language by taking an exam are expected to provide us with their score report via the IBA Online Application Form (OLAF) no later than 1 April. Documents submitted after 1 April will not be accepted.

Avoid disappointment and sign up for a language test on time! Exam centers fill up quickly, particularly during peak testing periods. Keep in mind that it can take several weeks to receive the results of your exam. This means that you should plan to take the exam no later than 1 March.

Do I have to write a motivation letter?

As part of the selection process for the IBA programme we ask our applicants to illustrate their drive and suitability for the programme by either uploading their CV OR answering the motivation question "What attracts you to an international business administration programme? It is not possible to choose both, so which one should you choose? To give you some guidance in making your choice, we have created a document to explain both options in more detail and to give you some tips. CV (resume) vs Motivation - How do I choose?

Next to either CV or motivation, RSM also asks applicants to reflect on their suitability for the programme by answering three "reflection" questions. Answers to these questions have no impact on the ranking but are purely meant for self reflection. Your CV or motivation and the reflection questions must be written in English.

Do I need to provide an overview of the mathematics topics?

Occasionally, RSM grants an exemption from the mathematics entrance exam. If you want to be considered for an exemption, you must provide a detailed overview of the mathematics subjects (including the mathematics level, contents and total number of hours per week) taken in the three final years of your secondary education. The overview must be written in English, or accompanied by an official English translation, signed by your mathematics teacher (including contact details: name and email address) and bearing a school stamp. An exemption from the mathematics entrance exam does not guarantee a place in the programme. To check your mathematics level, view the diploma specific requirements.

Should I add a letter of reference to my application?

Reference (recommendation) letters are not considered for the selection process. Reference letters are always positive so comparing one reference letter to another is not very fruitful and would cost us too much precious time which we need to evaluate the other aspects of the application.

What should I write in my curriculum vitae (CV)/resume?

A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume is a concise (usually a chronological) overview of your achievements so far. It contains your personal details, education, qualifications and skills, work experience (if applicable), spoken languages, interests or hobbies and/or extra-curricular activities. The length of your CV should not be more than two pages (one page is preferred).
