Smart for Good - Code of Conduct 2019

Smart for Good - Code of Conduct 2019

Dr Marcel van Oosterhout and Eva Rood from RSM presented how RSM’s mission is linked to the Sustainable Development Goals and how data and analytics can contribute to those goals at the ThingsCon in Rotterdam on 6 December 2018. To asses impact for the 'good' and societal challenges in the Rotterdam area the Code of Conduct was prelaunced. Within this collaboration RSM, Venture Café and Wolfpack will host a series of deep dives around responsible data science, data privacy and ethics and accountable algorithms. The first announcement will be in January

‘As data and algorithms are the main drivers for new economy and new business models, business executives must be equipped to manage them both fruitfully and responsibly. Digital transforms our very notions on values like trust, control, access, interdependence and security well beyond the current organizational boundaries. How do companies and humans relate to code?

Rotterdam School of Management, Venture Cafe and Studio Wolfpack organize a series of five deep dives for business managers, MBA students and entrepreneurs. Each edition will feature frontline entrepreneurs who are pushing the boundaries, professors who put both technology and social values in a transitional perspective and boardroom members explaining how their organizations are handling these new opportunities and challenges. In a meeting of minds they will explore the outlines of a Code of Conduct. Themes include Trust & Transparancy (eg blockchain), Control (eg AI), Access (eg infrastructures), Ownership (eg big data).
