Competitive advantage erodes over time. Creating a new competitive edge, and implementing the strategy to do it, contributes to the future of your company. To achieve this, you need to understand the main strategic tools and skills, and recognise the impact of strategic decisions, vital for any function within an organisation.
Foundations of Strategy is a module of RSM’s Diploma Programme in General Management (DPGM), but can also be followed separately. The diploma programme is designed so you can tailor it to your personal and professional development needs.
This programme is for managers that aspire to a more senior management position, and would like to learn how they can further add to the overall success of the organisation by understanding how strategic changes and decisions will affect their day-to-day operations and add value.
Managers in finance
Managers in marketing
Managers in human resources
Managers in other functions
During the Foundations of Strategy Programme you will learn from Dr Raymond van Wijk and Dr Anna Nadolska. Occasionally we may substitute other faculty members according to the content of the programme and their availability.
Anna Nadolska-den Ouden is Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Department of Strategy and Business Environment at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Anna joined the department upon completion of her PhD in internationalisation through mergers and acquisitions at Tilburg University.

He obtained his PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam with a study of the organisation and integration of knowledge in internal networks. He teaches courses on strategic alliances, corporate development and core strategy.
The programme takes place in the Bayle building on the Woudestein Campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
