With deep regret

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) deeply regrets to announce the deaths of two of its alumni. They both were on Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 when it crashed on Thursday, 17 July.

Dr Lucie van Mens, RSM PhD graduate 1992 and member of the RSM academic staff until 1997. She was working for the Female Health Company and was a very strong advocate of the distribution of the female condom in developing countries. Dr Van Mens was on her way to the International AIDS Conference in Melbourne.


Antoine van VeldhuizenDrs Antoine van Veldhuizen, RSM graduate 1995, Business Administration in corporate finance and strategic management. He was General Manager of Expatica, a popular online news and information portal for expats in the Netherlands. He was on the plane with his wife Simone and their two young sons Quint and Pijke. The family were going on holiday.

Our thoughts and hearts are with their respective families and friends. These great people will also be dearly missed for their achievements during their working lives.
