HR Strategy and Effectiveness

The contribution of Human Resource Management (HRM) to business success and current and future challenges for HR professionals are addressed in this three-day HR Strategy and Effectiveness Programme from RSM Executive Education. You will explore internal and external challenges; managing current challenges while making strategies for the future; working alongside finance and marketing departments; and exploring how HR departments can act as a partner in business.

Build an effective HR strategy to attract and retain talent

We begin by examining how your organisation’s business strategy can be coupled to its HRM processes to deliver sustained success, using performance management and individual development. You will see examples of best HRM practices for attracting and retaining talent, and strategies for maintaining diversity and inclusion. Learn how to assess connections between HR operations and couple them to business processes. Your assignments will provide valuable personal and professional insights as you share information with other HR professionals and line managers.

  • The HR Strategy and Effectiveness Programme is led by Dr Philip Stiles and Prof. Dirk van Dierendonck.

    Dr Philip Stiles
    Dr Philip Stiles is associate professor in organisational behaviour at Cambridge Judge Business School, where he is co-director of the Centre of International Human Resource Management. He previously worked for London Business School. Philip’s research focuses on people, leadership and culture. He works with more than 30 companies worldwide, focusing on leadership, culture and innovation. Philip also consults about development, and talent, change and performance management. He has won several awards for his teaching and research.

    Prof. Dirk van Dierendonck
    Prof. Dirk van Dierendonck is Professor of Human Resource Management at RSM. He has extensive experience in teaching HRM-related topics at undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels. He is active in translating academic knowledge into practical tools for HR professionals. Recent examples include two EU-funded projects about cultural diversity and age management, REDIVE and iHRM. He has written book chapters and has more than 70 articles published in major academic journals. He is also co-founder and scientific director of the Erasmus Centre for HR Excellence at the Erasmus Research Institute of Management.

    Fees

    € 2,750 (excl. 21% VAT) including course materials, lunches, and snacks. This fee does not include hotel accommodation.

    Cancellation policy

    Cancellation notices must be received by email: openprogrammes@rsm.nl. The following cancellation fees apply:

    • More than 14 days before the programme’s start date: 25% of the programme fee will be charged
    • Between 14 and 7 days before the programme’s start date:  75% of the programme fee will be charged
    • 7 days or fewer before the programme’s start date: 100% of the programme fee will be charged
    • Cancellations received on or after the programme’s start date: 100% of the programme fee will be charged.


    Replacements

    The participant can be substituted by someone from the same company on the same course without extra costs.
